Tireless Pursuit Of Your Goals

Car accidents apparently problematic in Alabama these days

Recent data that includes statistics from 2008 to 2014 suggests that Alabama is a very dangerous state for motorists. In fact, the recently published information suggests that it may be the fifth-most dangerous state in which to drive in the nation. Car accidents occur frequently on busy Alabama roads, many of which result in fatalities.

There are approximately 18 motor vehicle collisions per every 100,000 residents in the state. In addition to the grief and emotional trauma associated with losing loved ones in fatal car accidents, financial devastation often arises in the aftermath of such tragedies. One estimation lists costs related to car accident deaths as being as high as $1.2 billion in 2013.

Several other states are reportedly even more dangerous than Alabama for those who travel by motor vehicle. It seems that Wyoming, Arkansas, Mississippi and Montana have higher death tolls related to collisions than anywhere else in the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Health Indicators Warehouse provided much of the information used to gather the recent data.

Those who suffer the untimely deaths of loved ones in Alabama car accidents are often able to seek monetary recovery for their losses by filing wrongful death claims in court. When an immediate family member's death is believed to have been caused by another motorist's negligence, the law allows the family to seek compensation for damages on behalf of a decedent. Although, no amount of compensation can replace the loss of a human life, a successfully litigated case can provide means for helping to pay funeral expenses, any medical bills for care rendered before death and other costs associated with an accident.
