Fatal car accidents continue to plague Alabama roadways

Alabama highways are often filled with travelers from nearby states. When motorists are negligent or distracted behind the wheels of their vehicles, car accidents often occur. A two-vehicle crash recently took place that resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries to others.

Although all the details of the recent tragedy have not yet been publicized, it appears a 64-year-old woman from another state was traveling in Alabama when her car crashed into another vehicle. A 26-year-old woman was reportedly driving the sport utility vehicle that was struck. Sadly, both women succumbed to the injuries they suffered in the crash.

In addition to the two lives lost, four other people are said to have suffered injuries in the recent collision. Each of them was taken to a medical center in the area for treatment. No further information regarding the current conditions of those victims was provided at the time of this writing.

Those who survive but are still severely injured in Alabama car accidents are often faced with many ongoing challenges in recovery. They might be unable to work because of their injuries, thus causing substantial loss of income, and they may also need continued medical care or therapy. Such situations can place undue financial hardship on families who are completely unprepared to meet those debts. The law allows recovering victims to file personal injury claims in civil court against those deemed responsible for their suffering. If a person identified as liable did not survive a collision, a claim may still be filed against the decedent's estate.
