Alabama car accidents like this one make intersections dangerous

Not all Alabama children travel to and from school on buses. Many live near enough to their schools that they are able to walk to classes in the morning, then home again at the end of the day. As is the case for all pedestrians, students on foot are at risk for potential car accidents at intersections and other busy stretches of road, especially if drivers are not paying attention.

A recent incident occurred on a Wednesday just after school had let out for the day. Two girls, ages 8 and 15, were at an intersection in the center of the downtown area of Ashford. A pickup truck that was allegedly making a turn is said to have struck both girls.

The children were taken to the hospital for emergency care; the younger girl was later flown to another facility that was better equipped to treat her injuries. An update later provided stated the 15-year-old remained in critical, yet stable condition at the local hospital. Sadly, the younger child had died.

Car accidents that result in fatalities often have far-reaching consequences for families of victims and their communities. When victims of such tragedies are children, grief is understandably devastating. Those who survive victims of fatal pedestrian accidents often feel helpless regarding where to go for assistance to see that justice is served. In Alabama and all other states, personal injury attorneys often help grieving families by representing them in court to seek accountability and monetary judgment against those responsible for accident fatalities. By requesting  consultation, one is able to obtain advice regarding how best to proceed in a particular situation.
