Car accidents involving children especially tragic

It's always upsetting when someone is injured in an Alabama motor vehicle collision. Car accidents involving young children and teenagers are especially so. A horrific accident recently occurred as Mardi Gras celebrations got underway, which resulted in critical injuries to several local students.

The children were reportedly part of their school's marching band and were just beginning to process down the street in a Mardi Gras parade when the terrible accident happened. As the students proceeded, a motor vehicle suddenly plowed through their group from behind. At least 12 children were struck, with several of them winding up underneath the vehicle when it finally came to a stop.

Emergency crews kicked into high gear in the immediate aftermath of the tragic incident. Several of the children were in critical conditions. One had to be flown to a hospital in Mobile for emergency treatment. Videos of the accident scene were shown online that included numerous images of victims lying in the road.

The driver of the vehicle deemed to have caused the accident was a 71-year-old man. It is not believed any of his actions were intentional. Parents of children injured in Alabama car accidents obviously face all sorts of worry and emotional turmoil as they help their children recover and do their best to meet expenses often associated with such situations. During such trauma, it can be helpful to rely on a personal injury attorney for support and guidance to obtain monetary recovery for losses that can be used as financial relief.
