Alabama car accidents involving teens especially devastating

No parent in Alabama (or anywhere, for that matter) wants to receive a phone call or visit from a law enforcement officer regarding a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a child. All too many parents have already received news of such car accidents this year, and many more will likely experience similar tragedies as months continue to pass. One recent incident took the life of a young girl who had just recently turned 16.

When a young person reaches age 16, there is often a special celebration to mark the occasion. Some families host parties or picnics and invite relatives and friends. Others have more formal ceremonies, perhaps emphasized with a special gift or certificate. For some families, however, such joy is short-lived when the guest of honor dies before his or her next birthday.

The girl in the recent crash was traveling with several others at approximately 4:45 a.m. on a Sunday. The car she was in and another vehicle somehow collided. Police say the person driving the other car fled the scene on foot. Moments later, another car stopped, and the driver got out to assist the victims of the crash.

Apparently, the people in first vehicle (including the girl) also managed to exit their crashed vehicle. Suddenly, a fourth car struck the good Samaritan's vehicle and the girl. She did not survive her injuries. Navigating the aftermaths of Alabama car accidents is a process often wrought with emotional trauma. An experienced personal injury attorney can be of tremendous assistance to immediate family members seeking justice on behalf of a decedent and his or her family.
